Handy Backup

Novosoft’s Handy Backup tool, as its name so adequately points out, is a backup utility. Get this application and use it to ensure your data is backed up and protected from data loss accidents. You can have your important files and folders backed up locally, to an external storage device, or online.

You need at least 25MB of free disk space and at least 128MB of RAM to run Handy Backup on your Windows-powered PC – that’s any Windows edition from Windows XP and 2003 Server onward. A simple setup wizard will help you get Handy Backup up and running on your machine. When you’re done installing the application and you run it for the first time, a Startup Wizard will show up and ask you to pick a default backup location and check the boxes next to the items you want to back up.

The backup tasks you create will be presented in the main pane on Handy Backup’s interface. Underneath this pane you will find info on the task and above it you will find a bunch of buttons related to various bits of functionality Handy Backup has to offer.

The features you get from Handy Backup depend on the version you get. There are four Handy Backup versions to choose from: Free, Standard, Professional, and Server. The Free version does not cost a thing, but then again it comes with the least amount of features. The Standard, Professional and Server versions can automatically back up important files and folders locally, to the web, to a CD or DVD, or to an external storage device, can encrypt and password protect backups, can restore backups, can send out email notifications, and more.
